DNA Sequencing and GeneArt DNA Synthesis

DNA Sequencing

Sequencing done on USDA funds must be processed through Dave Neece.

Please visit the Core Sequencing Facility website, click on the "Sample Submission Guidlines" and read the "How To Submit Templates and Primers for DNA Sequencing" section to see how much of your template and primers you need to submit for sequencing, etc.

Download and fill out the Sequencing Order Form and read the following instructions:

- Make one entry for each sequencing reaction you want. If you are sequencing one template with two primers, then that would need two lines on the sheet (one for each primer).
- The maximum number of characters for Template Name or Primer Name is 10. Use only letters, numbers and the dash (-) symbol (the system will not accept characters like . , _ +).
- The 1.5ml tubes containing your template and primer(s) should be labeled on the top with exactly the same name that you put on the primer order sheet in the Template Name and Primer Name columns.
- The side of your 1.5ml tubes should be labeled with "Neece" and the date that is on the sequencing order sheet that I return to you.
- Email your completed Sequencing Order Form to Dave. He will return a sequencing order sheet for you to print out and drop off with your samples at the Core Sequencing Facility in 334 ERML.

GeneArt DNA Synthesis

Download and fill out the Gene Synthesis Order Form and read the following instructions:

- The maximum number of characters for the Gene Name is 20.
- You will need to consult with Dave at the time he places your order to define the ORF, sequence optimization, etc.
